"D-Ring and Strap" tie downs are an inexpensive, rugged product used on a multitude of cargo transporters, from 1,000 foot ships to your neighbor's utility trailer. D-Rings from Tandemloc are forged alloy steel with low carbon steel straps for excellent weldability.
• We recommend wrapping the welds around the edge of the straps and avoid heating the D-Ring over 500° F (to prevent downgrading the material strength properties of the alloy steel).
• Please note that the strength ratings expressed are "ultimate" loads or "Breaking Loads" and not "working loads." The strength is based on a single vertical pull, although most applications will result in the load direction to be at an angle or a compound angle.
• Please consider the angle(s) of pull you will encounter with your application as it increases the strain on the tie down at any given weight load.

NOTE 1: For lifting purposes, where a 3:1 safety factor to yield is required, the WLL (Work Load Limit) is 1/3 of the max. Load without yield. When proof testing is required, the proof test is two x the WLL. For Mil Std 209H conformance, the max load without yield is used to determine the use capacity. Lifting D-ring and straps are by request only and have additional cost.
NOTE 2: All parts are self colored
Note that loads are expressed as breaking loads and not working load limit, which is to be determined by the user. Apply an appropriate safety factor. If used for lifting the safety factor should be 5:1 and the item should be proof tested.
We can proof test D-Rings per your request for an additional charge.  (The strap cannot be tested without welding it to something, so testing the D-Ring only is of limited value). We can produce welded assemblies using D-Rings and Straps.  And finally, if you have an application requiring a D-Ring type tie down that is different then what we show---give us a call, we have others and we can design to suit.
D-rings and straps are self-colored or primer-painted and bulk packed. D-rings and straps have temporary corrosion resistance; however, minimal rust spotting due to abrasion from bulk packaging should be expected.
PLEASE NOTE: D-Rings and Straps are ONLY sold together and these items may NOT be purchased individually.
