Casters have to bear up under greater stresses than ever before. Lateral stresses - load stresses - shear stresses and, quite often, traditional casters
with kingpins cannot take the abuse.
When a heavy load encounters a lateral force, a standard caster with a kingpin tends to pull apart. Or worse, the kingpin shears off entirely. Either way, you're stuck with a heavy problem.
The solution? - Use Non-Kingpin Swivel Section type casters!
With these casters, the kingpin has been replaced by a
heavy-duty, full-contact ball bearing raceway which acts as
both load and thrust components that also lock the swivel
section together. With this design, the load is
distributed over a much larger diameter than a kingpin,
which results in far greater ruggedness, strength and
reliability.
